Angie Renshaw, MBA, CPA
Controller

Mrs. Renshaw joined Bayless with over seven years experience auditing and consulting for not-for-profit organizations, insurance companies, healthcare providers, and various other industries. Angie is an expert in OMB A-133 compliance audits and federal award compliance.

At Bayless, Angie is responsible for audit preparation and reviews, payroll processing, accounts receivable and accounts payable monitoring, as well as reporting to senior management.

Angie is originally from Anchorage, Alaska and has a Master’€™s of Business Administration from the Keller Graduate School of Management. Angie resides with her husband Jeremy along with her dog Delilah and four cats in Glendale, Arizona.

Scott Peterson, D.BH, LMFT, LISAC
Clinical Supervisor

Dr. Petersen brings over 15 years of clinical, management, and supervision experience to Bayless Healthcare Group. He came to Arizona in 2005, and has worked in the Medicaid system as an outpatient clinical site director and outpatient program director. Dr. Petersen’s areas of interest in behavioral health include family, couples, group, individual counseling, motivational interviewing, integrated behavioral healthcare, clinical supervision, and co-occurring (mental health and substance abuse) treatment. He has worked with adult, child, criminal justice, probation, child protective services, low income, and self-referred cases. He has provided multiple clinical trainings in the workplace and at behavioral health conferences.

Dr. Petersen completed a Doctorate of Behavioral Health from Arizona State University, a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University. He is dually licensed in Arizona as a Marriage and Family Therapist and Independent Substance Abuse Counselor. Dr. Petersen has a first degree black belt in Haidong Gumdo (Two-handed Korean Sword), enjoys chess, plays basketball, loves Disneyland, sings in choirs as a tenor, and has been a choir director. He enjoys life with his amazing wife and four children.

Russell Horning, RN, PMHNP
Psychiatry Supervisor

Russell comes to Bayless Healthcare after working at the Maricopa County Urgent Psychiatric Care Center for the past 11 years. He is familiar with the Medicaid system and excels at handling challenging situations. Russell also served as an Army nurse, primarily in the Arizona National Guard, for 13 years.
Mr. Horning grew up in the last frontier, Alaska, which he attributes to his ability to see the bigger picture in life situations and for his love of nature. He earned his undergraduate nursing degree from East Carolina University and his Masters at Arizona State University. Russell is certified as a Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and treats both children and adults.

At Bayless, Russell is responsible for developing streamlined, integrated, and appropriate access to care procedures for patients in need of psychiatric care. This involves development and support from the entire behavioral health team, primary care team, and patient services operations team. Russell is also responsible for the day to day leadership, utilization, and quality management oversight for the entire psychiatric program at Bayless Healthcare.
Russell is a single father of two children. Russell enjoys urban farming and can frequently be found trail running around the state.

Brooke Morrow, PA-C
Psychiatry Supervisor

Brooke comes to Bayless after working at the Maricopa Country Urgent Care Center. Brooke enjoys working with an interdisciplinary team, providing strength based care, and is very familiar with Maricopa County’€™s behavioral health system.

Brooke was born and raised in the valley, in fact, her grandparents were pioneers to Arizona in 1903. She received her Bachelor’s in Biomedical Sciences from Midwestern University and then continued her education there in Physician Assistant Studies. Brooke is a board certified Physician Assistant and treats both adults and children.

Brooke is married with two children. She enjoys spending time rooting on her son at the football or baseball field, watching her daughter dance, and working out at the crossfit athletic club.

Jon McCaine, Ph.D.
Clinical Psychologist, Lighthouse Program Supervisor

Dr. McCaine joined Bayless Healthcare in 2009 and is currently the Program Supervisor of the Lighthouse High Risk Youth Intensive Outpatient Program with Bayless Healthcare at the South Phoenix Family Clinic. He also serves as the Clinical Director of Desert Haven Care Center Skilled Nursing Facility overseeing the Bayless behavioral health programming of residents in the facility behavior units requiring specialized care.

Dr. McCaine formerly served as Clinical Director of the state of Arizona’s Department of Juvenile Corrections, Clinical Director of La Frontera Community Mental Health Center, and Clinical Director of Psychological Services at the Marana and Catalina Health Centers during which time he also provided adolescent group therapy at H.C.A Sonora Desert, P.I.A. Tucson Psychiatric Hospitals.

Dr. McCaine has also served on the Board of the Tucson Centers for Women and Children, the Tucson Domestic Violence Commission as Chair of the Children’s Rights Committee, the appointed Co-Chair of the State of Arizona’€™s protocol panel for the Treatment of Sex Offenders, the Board of the Arizona Sexual Assault Network, and the Chair of the Arizona Psychological Associations Ethnic and Minority Affairs Committee.

As a speaker and trainer in much demand, Dr. McCaine has provided ongoing training for city, county, state, and federal agencies. Dr. McCaine in the past provided statewide training on cultural competence for the Arizona’s Administration of Children, Youth, and Families and is a certified Cultural Diversity Trainer by Magellan Health Services. Dr. McCaine has also provided training to the Navaho Nation, the Tohono Oodham Nation, and the San Carlos, White Mountain, and Colorado River Apache Tribes on Family Violence Prevention and Cultural Identity.

Dr. McCaine was recognized with the Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award for his work in the area of family violence prevention and education. Dr. McCaine was also a recipient of the Martin Luther King Memorial Award for Community Service and Education. Dr. McCaine is married with one son and resides in the South Mountain Community.

Dr. Sophia Murphy, D.BH, LPC
Emotional Wellness Supervisor

In almost 10 years of direct service, Dr. Murphy has been fortunate to work with adults, adolescents, and children. She’s provided treatment to individuals, couples, and groups. Predominantly featured throughout her experiences has been an emphasis on the value of multicultural competency and a deep exploration of the relationship between identity and health. Dr. Murphy aims to support her patients in bettering their lives and reaching their individual goals through a holistic approach targeting mind-body health. She is certified as a Personal Trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and is licensed as a Professional Counselor with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.

As an undergraduate student, Dr. Murphy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of North Florida. She completed a Master of Science from the Department of Counseling at San Francisco State University, specializing in marriage and family therapy with an emphasis in rehabilitation. In earning her Doctor of Behavioral Health degree from Arizona State University, Dr. Murphy received advanced training in collaborative care and population-based health management. Her primary focus includes the relationship between health, nutrition, physical activity and depression. Dr. Murphy works closely with medical practitioners to provide behavioral health services tailored to the unique needs of patients living with chronic illnesses.

Mary Casciano Lovely, LPC
Care Management Supervisor

Mary is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of Arizona and Pennsylvania. Earning both a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Marywood University, in Scranton, PA. She has been in the counseling field for several years beginning her career in an inpatient substance abuse detox and rehabilitation facility in 2002. She has also worked in a variety of settings to include substance abuse partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, medically assisted treatment programs, community mental health inpatient, outpatient and community based programs, drug court programs and the
Federal Bureau of Prisons Drug Program and in private practice.

Working with teens and adults experiencing substance abuse problems and varying mental health issues in both inpatient and outpatient settings, she has a wide array of knowledge and appreciation for the struggles that people experience and continues to be amazed by the strength of the human spirit to overcome adversity. Believing that counseling can be an extremely useful tool for lasting change, Mary is very passionate about her work. Substance abuse, teen and young adult issues are her practicing area of specialty.

Kirsten Powell, LCSW, WHE
Clinical Supervisor

Kirsten Powell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who brings 14 years of clinical, supervisory, and program development experience to Bayless Healthcare Group. She completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies in Social Work at Arizona State University and minored in Pre-Law. She also has a certification in Whole Health Education from the National Institute of Whole Health.

She started her social work career as a counselor and educator in the field of domestic violence. Eventually her interest in serving individuals experiencing chronic mental health issues became the forefront of her clinical practice. She specializes in domestic violence, adolescent issues, women’s issues, and holistic models of wellness and recovery. Her community based experience ranges from inpatient hospitalization and crisis services, intensive outpatient therapy, individual therapy, justice related therapeutic services, peer related program development, and health plan specific behavioral health services. Kirsten’s clinical focus now centers on incorporating holistic therapeutic practices, which include the use of art, movement, and mindfulness, into all clinical and program development endeavors.

In her spare time, she spends time with family and friends, volunteers in the community, is a self-described bookworm, gardens, practices yoga, and enjoys cooking. She is also a lover of animals and children and believes that if we want to learn how to become completely present in our lives we should spend quality time with one or both beings.

KC Long
Customer Services Supervisor

Kc joined the Bayless team in 2015 with over 15 years of customer service and call center experience. Kc has a background in family and addictions counseling training through Rio Salado College. She is currently pursuing her Bachelors of Science with a focus in chemical dependency.

Kc has worked in a variety of customer service settings and has an ongoing passion to work in an integrative healthcare setting that she is confident will help the community. At Bayless, Kc and her team plays a significant role in creating a great patient experience while guiding them to the services that they are seeking.

Kc was born in Illinois and has spent the majority of her life in Phoenix, AZ. She enjoys volunteering at domestic violence shelters, reading to youth, and being a resource to domestic violence victims. Kc and her family work closely with Crusaders for Children organizing toy drives. She also enjoys spending time with her fiancé and children.

Carina Ortiz
Patient Services Supervisor

Carina joined Bayless Healthcare in 2013 and is currently the Patient Care Supervisor of the South Phoenix Clinic. Carina has a background in Fire Fighting 1 & 2 along with an EMT certification and is currently enrolled at Phoenix College for Emergency Response.

Carina’s long term goal after graduation is to continue working for Bayless Healthcare providing her experience and knowledge to the community in both outpatient medical and behavioral health.

Carina volunteers her free time mentoring adolescents in group homes and shelters throughout the valley. She also likes playing soccer and softball with family and friends. Fun fact: Carina was Cesar Chavez’s High School number 1 golfer for the year of 2005 and continues to enjoy the sport.

Tannya Carbajal, MA
Patient Services Supervisor

Tannya Carbajal has been practicing as Medical Assistant since obtaining her certification in May of 2009.

Tannya is a member of the American Association of Medical Assistants AAMA, and has experience in a variety of clinical settings including different specialties, and has served as Lead Medical Assistant at a Family Care and Pediatric office.

Tannya is currently the Patient Services Supervisor over Bayless Pediatrics and Family Medicine. Tannya gets great satisfaction in knowing she has helped families by making their visit as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Karen Cole, CNA
Patient Services Supervisor

Karen joined the Bayless team in 2015. From a young age, she has possessed a passion for health care. This passion was finally cultivated in 2012 when she had the opportunity to work in direct patient care. Her journey progressed and she ultimately found her niche in community psychiatry.

At Bayless, her clinical responsibilities coincide with her administrative duties. Specifically, Karen oversees the daily operations of medical assistants and other clinical staff at Bayless Healthcare’s Central Phoenix Clinic.

In her spare time, Karen enjoys hot yoga, tennis, and listening to music from her vinyl collection. Karen is most happy when she’s helping others and making a difference in someone else’s life.
