Leads the identification, documentation and improvement of organizational processes. Works with areas to define current processes, identifies bottlenecks and inefficiencies. By using data and reporting tools, helps to identify key areas of inefficiencies and costs to the organization and patient experience. Works with areas to create training and testing tools to ensure new workflows are consistently being followed across the entire organization consistently. Mentors and coach the organization on how to properly execute improvement science methodology such as the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) or Lean Six Sigma; and demonstrate appropriate utilization of the various tools available to drive change.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop process improvement procedure to improve operational efficiency
  • Analyze current process standards and met4rics in order to provide solutions for improvements
  • Perform data gathering, root cause analysis and performance trending in o4rder to develop appropriate process control changes.
  • Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts to develop process improvement reports, adverse trends and priority focus areas
  • Identify the related areas and potential impact of process changes and communicate and work with effected areas proactively to minimize negative impacts on related areas
  • Prepare workflow documents and all appropriate training and core process documents
  • Coordinate the training schedule with areas and assist in training
  • Determine fiscal requirements and personnel resources required for process engineering and the associated financial improvements
  • Prepare communication plans for multiple stakeholders regarding process re-engineering changes


Education, Certification, and Experience Requirements

  • BS degree required. Certification in Lean and or Six Sigma processes preferred
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions from complex technical material and other inputs
  • Experience with process improvement and documentation
  • Excellent project management and organization skills
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication, presentation, and persuasion skills
  • Highly collaborative and able to build trusting relationships across a diverse workforce
  • Adept at leading change in a complex and geographically dispersed organization
  • Capable leader, advisor, mentor, and coach; someone who motivates and inspires

Tools and Equipment Requirements

  • The ability to use a phone, computer, printer, and copier is required.
  • Frequent use of Microsoft office products, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to use the internet and various web browser software is required.

Physical Working Conditions and Office Setting Description

  • Some travel required to field locations to facilitate execution of responsibilities. Must provide proof of a valid driver’s license, valid auto insurance with, at minimum, state required insurance levels.
  • Requires prolonged sitting, standing, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching.
  • Some lifting may be required.
  • Frequent and prolonged typing and frequent and prolonged operation of computer, keyboard, and telephones required.
  • Requires occasional use of fax machines, telephones, copiers, and other office equipment.
  • Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
