POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President of Primary Care is a senior executive position. This role includes supervision of a team of primary care providers and care management teams and can include part time practice of primary care. The goal of the Vice President of Primary Care is the quadruple aim of better outcomes, improved patient experience, lower health care costs, and higher clinician satisfaction. This role oversees the activities of group providers, including quality healthcare delivery, recruiting and the onboarding/training processes. This position is responsible for a number of activities related to the delivery of medical care and clinical services such including cost management, utilization review, quality assurance, and medical protocol development.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the central point of contact for the Bayless Integrated Healthcare’s medical services.
  • Provides administrative support, leadership and oversight for all clinical programs. Responsible for access to care guidelines.
  • Responsible for patient satisfaction, and monitors survey feedback for trends and areas of opportunity.
  • Manages patient and medical staff complaints, including resolution and follow-up and collaborates with appropriate staff.
  • Develops, retains, evaluates and provides clinical/administrative supervision and coaching to program staff/providers.
  • Coordinates the education, scheduling and evaluation of interns, students and residents. Advises as to whether they should be recruited by Bayless at the completion of their rotations.
  • Participates on the Bayless Integrated Healthcare’s executive team.  Partners with contracting agencies, payer groups, medical professionals internally and externally as necessary.
  • Reports to the Chief Medical Officer
  • Participates actively with the Bayless Integrated Healthcare team at each site to ensure bidirectional integration is occurring.
  • Implements consistent processes and procedures for the medical practice.
  • Identifies and delivers training to the providers/staff within the practice.
  • Oversees and ensures provider time equity units are meeting expectations. Coaches and develops staff productivity.
  • Identifies medical needs within the community and ensures proper training and/or community resources available meet need.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Certification, and Experience Requirements

  • Must be a medical doctor, with a minimum of 5 to 10 years’ of professional experience
  • Possess 3 to 5 years’ supervisory experience on a medical team
  • Must have fluency in documenting into an electronic medical record
  • Must have active CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Strong project management skills, including complex projects resulting in measurable program growth
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Possess a valid fingerprint clearance card and have a recent tuberculosis test on file
  • Superior analytical and problem solving abilities required
