Matt has been with denova Healthcare since 2005 and have practiced therapy as a licensed practitioner since 2007. Matt has adopted a theoretical framework that includes both a systems (e.g., families, couples, marriages) and cognitive-behavioral therapy approach. Within these therapeutic parameters, Matt works with individual adults, individual children, families, and couples.
Matt’s clinical experience has primarily focused on working with individuals and systems struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, parent-child relational problems, and disruptive behavior disorders. More specifically, Matt sees himself as a facilitator when focusing on promoting change with regards to one’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Matt considers himself a behaviorist in the sense that he believes that action or “doing” is the only way to move towards growth. Matt always strives to implement the key counseling characteristics of warmth, empathy, respect, and genuineness while also making it a top priority to be sensitive to different cultural backgrounds.
