Ms. Barbara Lynn Firminger, B.A., M.B.A., was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and grew up in Denver, Colorado. After attending Phillips Academy in Andover, she received her BA in Psychology and Economics from Duke University.
In 1989, following the family tradition, she began her carrier in the medical field receiving her MBA in HealthCare Administration from Boston University. She spent the first seven years of her career in various management roles for managed care companies in the northeast: medical funds flow model creation, Medicaid Healthplan state filings and provider network development. Since then, she has held several operational leadership roles in prestigious Health Systems (St. Barnabas Health System, Henry Ford, and U of M) before moving back to Colorado as a Vice President of Professional and MSO services at Vail Health.
In 2011, she joined IASIS Healthcare and moved to Phoenix with her family as the COO of the Physician Group of Arizona. As the medical group operations grew in Arizona and the Western States, she changed roles from the Chief Executive Officer of Physician Group of Arizona to add responsibility for the Western Division Physician Group. After leaving IASIS, Ms. Firminger was the Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Access Officer for Northern Arizona Healthcare until 2018. Her diverse experience includes hospital operations, large physician group practice management, managed care and consulting.
Her focus in the last 10 years has been improving community wellness, access to affordable primary and key integrated specialty services close to home and population health.
