Cristina Mitchell graduated with her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology in 2014 from Grand Canyon University and then completed her Master’s of Science in Professional Counseling from GCU in 2018. She is currently licensed in the State of Arizona as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Cristina is passionate about providing a non-judgmental and supportive space for those struggling with their mental health. She has many years of experience serving and connecting with people.
Cristina has experience helping individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, traumas, relationships, and other general mental health conditions. She also has experience providing group therapy services. Populations served include kids 10 years old above, and adults of all ages. She also has experience helping and advocating for victims of sex trafficking. Cristina started with Bayless in January 2020 and is now a part of the Trauma Specialty Team. She is EMDR trained and continues to grow in her practice and passion for helping others by being an advocate for mental health. Her client-centered approach supports her beliefs that her clients have the innate ability to heal and overcome the challenges that life can bring. She aims to provide a non-judgmental space that meets clients where they are at.
Cristina personalizes treatment based on the needs of the client. She uses combined approaches of EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness practices, Solution-Focused approaches, and more. She is also a Board-Certified Tele-mental Health therapist using a virtual platform that allows for flexibility in appointments. Cristina believes that one of the most important parts of therapy is building a strong therapeutic relationship, as this is the foundation to healing and growth. She is warm, empathetic, and allows clients to open up at their own pace.
Cristina is born and raised in Arizona. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, crocheting, being with her fur babies, and connecting with her faith.< Return to All Providers
