Patricia was born in Guadalajara Jalisco in Mexico and immigrated to the United States after she married 36 years ago. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Psychology from Park University at Fort Bliss, El Paso Texas. After completing her degree, she worked in a social program that provided services for the homeless population. After two years she moved to Guadalajara Mexico where she worked in a maximum-security prison. Returning to Nogales Arizona in 1999 she pursued her Master’s Degree in Social Work and Doctorate in Integrative Behavioral Health at Arizona State University where she graduated in 2011. This allowed Patricia to practice as a clinical social worker and Behavioral Health consultant in different locations including hospitals, jails, and impatient facilities. In Nogales she directed the Community Coalition Response Team (CCRT)against domestic violence. After practicing in Arizona for 10 years she moved to California where she worked as a Behavioral Health Consultant for the past 7 years. Patricia’s career has allowed her to pursue her passion to help at-risk populations who suffer from substance abuse disorders and domestic abuse.
In her spare time Patricia likes to volunteer and help her community. In 2005 she volunteered her time at the Katrina effort as a Spanish counselor for survivors. She also has a passion for traveling, loves to read, restoring antiques, and overlanding. Patricia currently lives in Phoenix with her husband and 3 cats. Patricia believes that if you have the will that all is possible.
