Jessica Capps is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Arizona. She additionally completed a Rural Telehealth Certification Program from the University of Arizona. She is an Alumni from Arizona College, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and Arizona State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Jessica has worked in a variety of nursing specialties, which include acute psychiatric care, telemetry, and progressive care. Jessica has experience working with patients across the lifespan in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Prior to working as a nurse, she worked as high needs case manager coordinating mental health services.
Jessica is an advocate for the patients she serves by providing holistic and patient centered care. Her goals are to increase accessibility of mental health services and to help eliminate barriers toward receiving holistic care. Jessica provides evidence-based care that has been supported to reduce the patient’s presenting symptoms and meets the individualistic needs of each patient. She creates a partnership with her patients that is free of judgement.
Jessica enjoys spending time with her family and getting involved within her community. She has volunteered with March of Dimes, National Alliance on Mental Illness, and Central Arizona Shelter Services. She was also an assistant director for a local community theatre.
