Kayla is a Licensed Associate Counselor who attended Adams State University where she received a dual masters degree in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health. Previously working as a teacher and high school counselor Kayla is passionate about working with pre-teens, adolescents, and young adults. She is able to connect on a deeper level that allows for a bridge of openness, safety, non-judgement, and trust. Kayla demonstrates expertise in working with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, OCD, low self-esteem, identity issues, negative thinking patterns, poor self-worth, childhood trauma, self-harm, suicidal ideation, lack of motivation and drive, social anxiety, reality acceptance, emotional dysregulation, poor communication skills, and interpersonal conflict.
Kayla’s therapeutic approach is non-judgmental, genuine, and client centered. She is a supportive, active listener while challenging and guiding clients to create an abundant life worth living. Kayla creates a space of safety where together they go on a deep dive exploring, identifying, connecting, rewriting and building healthier strategies to address root causes of issues in order to truly heal. Kayla is a Southern California native who obtained her undergraduate degree in Sociology from Arizona State University. She decided to plant roots in the valley and has been here for the past 10 years. She loves to travel, cook, spend time with friends and family, and hike with her dog Ellie.
