Sydney Phillips graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Child Sciences from New Mexico State University. She received her Master’s in Counseling from Arizona State University in 2016 and is currently licensed in the State of Arizona as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Sydney first started with Bayless in January 2016 and is now a part of the Trauma Specialty Team. She continues to grow in her practice and passion for helping others by being an advocate for mental health, gaining ongoing training, and reflecting on her time with each of her clients. Specialty populations served include young adults, women, and those who experience PTSD, mood and depression challenges, general anxiety, and other general mental health challenges. Her client-centered approach supports her beliefs that her clients have the innate ability, strength, and resilience to overcome life’s most distressing experiences and challenges. She aims to meet her clients where they are to build a therapeutic alliance and safe space for them to heal.
Sydney is certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). ART is a type of treatment that utilizes calming bilateral eye movements and a technique called voluntary image/memory replacement so that her clients can break emotional, physical, and emotional pain often associated with traumatic experiences. Along with ART Sydney utilizes an eclectic treatment style to address each individual patient’s needs including Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and solution-focused therapy.
Sydney is originally from Albuquerque, NM, and will put green chile on anything and everything she can. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and trying new restaurants in the Valley in her free time.< Return to All Providers
