Our team consists of Denova staff psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors, social workers, and other providers to ensure our mental health counselors and team meet all of your needs.
Psychiatry is a specific type of medicine that specializes in identifying, diagnosing, and managing emotional and behavioral disorders. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor or a Doctor of Osteopathy who specializes in mental health therapy, meaning they can assess both the mental and physical aspects of your concerns. In addition, there are other providers who can treat psychiatric conditions including Nurse Practitioners (NP’s), Doctorate of Nurse Practitioners (DNP), and Physician Assistants (PA’s). There are many reasons that you may seek psychiatric help, such as panic attacks, suicidal thoughts, hearing voices, feeling a sense of hopelessness, feeling out of control, or having difficulty functioning in everyday life. Whatever the reason, our psychiatric providers work with you and other team members to make sure that all of your psychiatric needs are met.
At Denova Collaborative Health, we offer depression counseling in Arizona with a focus on integration: Whole-person health. Any psychiatric diagnosis and treatment are reviewed alongside physical, genetic, environmental, social, cognitive (thinking), emotional, and educational factors that may be affected. If you need medication as part of your treatment with our counseling services, we work with you to make sure it fits with your recovery goals, as well as your specific disorder, and lifestyle needs.
Psychiatrists and Psychiatric mental health counselors deal with a range of mental health therapy concerns including:
Psychiatric counseling services we provide
Initial Assessment
In an initial assessment, you will be asked a lot of questions about your medical history, family history, psychiatric history, personal and family life, and general lifestyle. The initial assessment allows the psychiatrist or psychiatric provider to understand your current concerns, your past problems, and what treatments have/have not worked for you previously. It will help to identify if psychiatry is indeed the correct treatment route for you.
Psychiatric Evaluation
Having a mental health therapy evaluation allows our depression counseling professionals in Arizona to form a more complete understanding of the way you think, feel and reason. The evaluation will assess your emotional well-being with a series of questions. It assesses your emotional, behavioral, and physical problems in much greater depth than the initial assessment. This evaluation assists in diagnosing mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.
Medication Management
If medication is part of your treatment plan, we will prescribe it for a trial period. This will help us observe the effectiveness of the medication and ensure it is the correct treatment for you. At Denova, we believe in a holistic approach to mental health treatment. Even if medication is prescribed, it will not be the sole tool we use to help you manage your mental health conditions. As every individual is unique, so is the mental health therapy and treatment provided at Denova. Your care and quality of life is at the core of our treatment approach.
Integrated Care Coordination
Our integrated approach allows our psychiatrists, mental health counselors, and other providers to take into consideration all aspects of your overall health and how those aspects may be affecting your mental health. We organize care activities and share information among our psychiatric, medical, therapeutic, and care management teams.
